quick re-cap:
the Donnas...
- I finally posted the photos from their super sweet 15yr anniversary or the bands "QuinceaƱera: The Donnas 15th Anniversary Show" which took place at the Viper Room. I love that place. Its not one of the best places to photograph bands, its alright but the sound quality is a-maze-ing. I was invited to go photog the show for the donnas, so i showed up just in time to catch their set after of course being turned down from entering 3 parking lots because 'my truck was too big' whats up with that...HATERS! its basically the same size as any other car/suv. it fits in all regular spots, its just taller. So i was forced to park about half way down the strip, that was super lame and i was kinda in a bad mood the rest of night. Once inside the club I was okay but it was packed pretty tite and it was muggy and alittle sweaty...a metal show! I saw Nikki Sixx [hes not as tall as he seems in person :'( ] and caught the very last part of Veins of Jenna's set. Then the Donnas came on and the place was so packed, it seemed like the whole front row [or least the side where i was near the wall were kinda rude. okay mainly one guy] now, im short and have a press/photo pass. i was there for the band and their fanclub and this guy in front of me was pretty tall so i asked if he would mind switching places with me [a meer difference of about 6inches] and he refused to budge so i asked if i could squeeze by him to get into a booth on the side of the stage and promised to not take up any of his space. i would have been out of his way completely, plus no one was even over there i just needed to skoot by him. but no. this guy was really rude and started ignoring me completely... *in a stephanie tanner voice* how rude! He had a tiny point-n-shoot that he had on a mini tripod trying to film the whole set infront of and behind the curtain...whatev! so i eventually shoved my self into the booth to try to get a better angle [better than the back of his head!] and the photos came out alright. they played a good set, the crowd was into it for sure! most of their fans travled across the country to come see them play, crazy huh! yeah-yuh go fanclub!!!

get mashed...
- on friday some of the mishmash crew went to safari sam's for some interviews i set up with Jason and Don Von Bondie and the fine boys from Die!Die!Die! [it was Lachlans b-day yay!] it was alot of fun. Got to meet and welcome new guy Adam Kruger [thats right, KRUGER! i know rad right!?] into our crew of mishmashers. hes a pretty cool guy. And apparently J-V-B thought i looked like smug enough to stab someone with a butter knife ??? yeah, im not sure either. it was pretty funny tho! oh yeah, i saw Astrid [aka Ali on the Air]out at the show too, i'd say it was a nice little reunion. our convo consisted of mostly this wise phrase "dont wear sandals when you plan on kicking someones ass" [good advice]
heres the teaser vid:

the Mojave Road...
- on sunday i spent the day off-roading with my fam in the desert. we travled the Mojave Road which was originally used by indians to travel to the pacific ocean from lake havasu and then used ny spanish and american explorers before it was used by the military and now off-roaders. It was cool [literally, it was pretty cloudy most of the day] its a good scenic trail but, i got sick. i usually dont especially in the car. i figured it would be no different than riding a trail on a dirt bike only i forgot that my dirt bike has a really nice suspension system unlike my familys suburban which makes you feel every single dip and bump in the road. it was too much truffle shuffling fo rme and i spent most of the rida asleep in the back seat trying not to throw up all the while holding out untill we reached a well populated area fully equiped with plumbing to empty my bursting bladder, i wasnt about to let loose on a rock. ew. its just not natural. its easier for guys, they just go where ever and when ever they want...its not fair! but it was a fun trip for the time i spent awake and feeling like i wasnt going to blow chunks!
heres some photos:

*alot of my recent work has been in black and white and sepia and not the usual full of vibrant color/s im used to. ive been developing a lot of film traditionaly as of late and am kinda of obsessing over it ;-)
