went to the troubadour with Ninjess last week. aside from being cold and windy as hell outside. it was incredibly crowded inside for some relativly new bands...plus we totally scored on parking so it was all good.

some bands you should probablly get to know:

Nico Vega
comprised of three people. two boys and a girl. seperatly they are just that, people. together they are a music machine. some have said they are the new yeah yeah yeahs [probably because the lead singer Aja Volkman likes to dress in american appearel leotards while jumping around on stage belting out the lyrics right along with the audience] however, i dont agree with that. they are a breed all their own, completely new to thier surroundings. soulful, groovin', their tunes have substance and their live shows reveal this.

Warpaint
finally a real band to come out of L.A. four girls [with the occasional guy] simply making good music. thats it. no frills. no filler. its just that. its raw. good music.

Saint Motel
if you saw these four guys on the street, you probablly wouldnt think much of them except that they were nice boys. the kind your mother would want you to bring home. they dont look like rockstars. they dont really dress like rockstars. but, plug 3 of them into an amp and sit the other behind a drum set and you've got your self a toe-tappin', dance all night rock band. these guys legitimetly rock the fuck out [just dont tell your mom]!

The Cheat
straight up this bands music sounds good chillin' at home, driving with your friends, drinking alone and all of the above. they arent bad to look at either! not only are they good for aural pleasure but they gurantee "a blindingly whiter smile, increased self-esteem, and a more fulfilling sex life." how could one possibly go wrong with them right? exactly! the band goes on to explain that "One evening with the Cheat will make you sleep better, live longer, and will give you that lean, sculpted set of abdominals you've always wanted." i dunno about you, but im sold! plus "The Cheat contains no carbohydrates or hydrogenated oils. Now available with anti-oxidants." sounds awesome to me. i'll take 2 please.
